Cheryl Vassiliadis has been in love with dancing since she was a little girl. Her parents, who also had a love for the arts (her mother, in particular, for piano and ballet) supported her dream from a young age.
Three Dance Exchange Performers Spend Week getting Baycrest Moving
Intergenterational dancers from Dance Exchange came to Baycrest, a global center of excellence in brain health and aging in Toronto, this June. The dancers were a part of a half day training session for Baycrest staff to begin the week. For the remainder of the week, the team performed unexpectedly in various locations throughout the facility and lead workshops with residents, staff and caregivers. The week came together with a sharing in the Winter Garden Atrium on the last day, filled with thinking about dance as an integral part of health care. More collaborations are planned as we continue our explorations at the creative interface between dance and health.
