Aging Adults Optimistic About What Lies Ahea

84% of younger adults (ages 18-59) and 89% of older adults (over age 60) say they feel confident about maintaining a high quality of life in their senior years, according to a national survey of 2,000 people. The main reason for this optimism was feeling like they will have good support from their friends and family, followed by happiness about their living situation, financial preparedness, and general optimism about all areas in life. Despite their hope for the future, 45% of older adults still wish they had saved more money. Additionally, 77% of these older adults say they plan to stay in their current homes for the rest of their lives if able, because it meets their needs, keeps them close to friends and families, and holds memories.
