Early Music Lessons Enhance Elderly Brain

According to a recent study, putting a child through early music lessons helps keep the brain sharper as they age. The latest findings show that early musical training leads to faster neuron responses to speech sounds and that it has a lasting, positive effect on how the brain processes sound. Past research has found that age-related cognitive problems are preventative and this new research shows that a lifetime participating in music combats those effects.
