How an Artist Painted His Decline into Alzheimer’s
Artist William Utermohlen painted through his decline into Alzheimer’s giving a fascinating insight into the mind of an Alzheimer’s patient. Utermohlen persevered through his lack of motor control switching from oils to watercolors and pencils until he was no longer able to draw. Utermohlen’s work became more and more focused on self-portraiture as time went by. Utermohlen’s work, Artistic Decline Through Alzheimer’s, was shown at the GV Art gallery in London where his wife and others honored his life work.
