Jewish senior camps retool to keep up with more active seniors—and the competition

Summer camps for older adults are becoming more popular as the aging population explores more ways to engage socially and spiritually with others. The Jewish community specifically has found ways to incorporate cultural and religious activities into more traditional camp programs such as swimming and arts and crafts. Seniors can attend lectures, religious services, and travel to nearby landmarks, among many other opportunities the camps offer. Many attendees find the engagement allows them to reminisce about their memorable camp experiences when they were younger. They were excited about camp then, so the thought of returning to this time brings along happy memories.
