Knitting May Have Health Benefits

Even though crafters have long recognized the therapeutic effects of knitting and crocheting, A 2013 survey of more than 3,500 knitters worldwide found that 81.5 percent of respondents rated themselves as feeling happier after knitting. Research has shown the connection between hobbies like crafting, music, and even home repair to reduced levels of stressed and slows cognitive decline. Other studies show its effects in helping patients with mental disorders. Knitting helps strengthen connections in the brain-- so the process of doing it is just as rewarding as the final product.
