Later-in-Life Artists Prove it's Never Too Late to Express Creativity
Donna Moraff always wanted to be an artist, but like many baby boomers, her parents set her on a more “practical” career course. She helped to satisfy her urge for creative expression by designing and making her own clothes, but it still wasn’t enough. She always sketched in her free time, and is now a professional artist and instructor at age 68. Aging can give an advantage to artists, as older people have a different world view and wisdom. Art is also very beneficial to the aging process by stimulating certain parts of the brain.
