Lifestyle Changes are Key to Easing Alzheimer's Risk
The combination of eating well, exercising, keeping mentally and socially engaged, and managing obesity can reduce someone's risk of memory decline, according to a new study from Finland. In the two year study, 1,260 people ages 60-77 were divided into two groups: one given standard care, and one given care with an emphasis on these four factors. At the end, the group who focused on these factors performed significantly better on cognitive and memory tests. Though they will be followed for seven more years, researchers are happy at these preventative revelations, because physical and mental activities are accessible to all people.
