Studies Show Choral Singing Helps Keep Older Adults Healthier
More and more studies are proving the positive impact of choral singing on physical and mental health. Though this may begin as a childhood activity or subconscious habit, seniors like Louise Greenberg have found that singing is an enjoyable activity that can be pursued at any age. Greenberg was pleased to find Encore Creativity for Older Adults, a program for seniors to practice and perform choral music for concerts throughout the year. Founded by Jeanne Kelly, Encore Creativity for Older Adults inspired Greenberg to begin forming the Greater Reading Encore Chorale for seniors in Reading, Pennsylvania. It has been very popular thus far.
