Study into benefits of Singing Proves Positive Impact on Health

The Sidney De Haan Research Center for Arts and Health at Canterbury Christ Church University has conducted a randomized controlled trial on the health benefits of community singing on older adults.  “Our research has not only commented previous studies that pointed to an increase in health benefits from community singing programs, but it also demonstrated that singing programs are cost effective method of health promotion…”  The study also allowed the team to monetarily value the results, pointing to substantial cost savings for adult services.
