Workout Program May Help Older Adults Stay at Home

90 percent of older adults wish to stay in their current homes for as long as they can, but may not be able to if they are unable to take care of their own daily needs-- often a result of a decline in muscle strength due to sedentary lifestyle. An assistant professor from Indiana University designed a “3-Step Workout for Life” program to help adults maintain their independence. The 10 week program spends its first half focusing on fitness, and its second focusing on strength in everyday tasks.
