Your Brain's Got Rhythm, And Syncs When You Think
Everyone’s brain has an internal rhythm, that speeds up for more intense activities and slows down for more calm ones. These cadences play a role from mental activities, like concentrating, to physical ones, like walking. Disruptions in the brains normal firing patterns are a symptom of diseases like Parkinson’s, Schizophrenia, and Epilepsy. But when patients with these disorders are exposed to external rhythms of music and dance, it can help to alleviate some of the symptoms. Patients with Parkinson’s are taking special dance classes and using singing techniques to get them moving again.
