Encore Chorale Fall Season (Ongoing)

Still Waters Art, Music & Dance Celebration

During the past 8 months, Still Waters Adult Day Center in northeast Indianapolis has been working with a team of expressive arts therapists in the areas of art, music and dance/movement to provide new forms of meaningful activities for 30+ older adults who regularly attend the center.

Sharing the Soul Through the Expressive Arts

Daniel C. Potts, M.D. and Angel C. Duncan, MA-MFT, ATR of the Cognitive Dynamics Foundation (www.cognitivedynamics.org) will be presenting a lecture titled “Sharing the Soul Through the Expressive Arts” at the Pioneer Network’s 2014 National Conference at 2:30 pm Central.  Potts will highlight the story and art of his father, Lester, and explore the neuroscience behind artistic expression in dementia.

JF&CS Memory Café

The JF&CS Memory Café is a welcoming and creative place for individuals and families living with memory loss or other cognitive changes.  Guests enjoy coffee and treats, music, and conversation with new friends of all ages.  Each month, a guest artist shares his or her work, and facilitates a creative exploration for all.  Co-hosted by the Waltham Student Group of Brandeis University.  Free of charge.  Meets on the first Friday of the month, except for major holidays.

Dementia/Alzheimer's Care - Tips, Techniques and Advice (Free Community Education)

We offer a variety of practical suggestions and tips to family caregivers on how to manage challenging behaviors that their loved one with dementia may exhibit. Also, we can provide advice and tips on how to get your loved one with dementia engaged in meaningful activities. We offer a complimentary resource kit called "Confident to Care At Home Kit" that includes some of the information that would be discussed in an easy to use reference guide.

Tremble Clefs Choral Group

PD Dance and the Tremble Clefs choral group continue to offer weekly opportunities for those living with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners to enjoy invigorating, challenging arts endeavors in an atmosphere of support and camaraderie. Tremble Clefs is selected Mondays, 10:30 – 12:00. Ongoing.

Parkinson's Dance

PD Dance and the Tremble Clefs choral group continue to offer weekly opportunities for those living with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners to enjoy invigorating, challenging arts endeavors in an atmosphere of support and camaraderie. PD Dance is Wednesdays, 10:30 – 12:30, though the schedule may vary. Ongoing.

Senior Theatre Performances, Workshops & Panels

The Senior Theatre program at the 2014 ATHE Conference is a great opportunity to connect with other Senior Theatre enthusiasts as you learn more about the field. Workshop sessions include ideas for traveling theatre and perfecting courtroom dramas. Among panel discussions are where older performers can fit in in today’s theatre circuit, and ways to create acts with and for seniors.

Baltimore Clayworks Trial By Fire Premiere

The short film by award-winning filmmaker, Errol Webber, explores Baltimore Clayworks along with its former founding director, Deb Bedwell. The film serves as a small window one can look through to see the impact of Baltimore Clayworks' Community Arts program on the surrounding community. It captures why the organization and these exceptional individuals are exemplars using craft as a vehicle for love and forgiveness in changing the world. Light fare will be provided.
