Encore Chorale Holiday Concert

The Anne Arundel Community College, Myerberg and Southern Maryland Encore Chorales will perform together in a free community concert featuring holiday favorites, and a few surprises, at AACC Pascal Center for Performing Arts on December 20 at 7:30pm.  Guest artists will be the Indian Creek Upper School Chorus.

Smithsonian Encore Chorale Holiday Concert

The Smithsonian Encore Chorale will perform a free community concert featuring holiday favorites, and a few surprises, at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian on December 19 at 7:30pm.  Guest performer will be Edwin Thayer, French Horn.

Encore Chorale Holiday Concert

The six Northern Virginia Encore Chorales will perform together in a free community concert featuring holiday favorites, and a few surprises, at the Kenmore Middle School on December 15 at 3pm.  Guest artists will be the Chamber Ensemble of the Northern Virginia Symphony Orchestra.

The Southern Maryland Encore Chorale will perform a free community concert featuring holiday favorites, and a few surprises, at the Middleham & St. Peter’s Episcopal Parish Hall in Lusby MD on December 14 at 3:00pm.

Salt Lake City Encore Chorale Holiday Concert

The Salt Lake City Encore Chorale will perform a free community concert featuring holiday favorites, and a few surprises, at the Salt Lake City Community College Atrium on December 14 at 2pm.  Guest artists will be the One Voice Children’s Choir.

Celebrating ARTZ: Creating Culture Change for Persons with Dementia & Their Care Partners Through the Arts

This chapter in the Goddard House Dinner Lecture Series features ARTZ founders John Ziesel, Ph.D., and Sean Caulfield, Ed.M. The topics that will be discussed at this lecture will be to learn the principles of ARTZ and art as a healing agent in the community and to discover how the arts can bring forth a person with Alzheimer’s disease to engage and learn. They will also address how to challenge the 4 A’s: Apathy, Anxiety, Aggression, and and Agitation - and how the arts can help.

Brooklyn Poetry Party- Celebrate Alzheimer’s Poetry Project's 10th Anniversary

Please join us for a special edition of the Memory Arts Cafe as the Alzheimer's Poetry Project celebrates its 10th Anniversary. Our co-producers of the Memory Arts Cafe and dear friends at New York Memory Center host this celebration along with Jennie Smith-Peers, Executive Director of Elders Share the Arts (ESTA). Brooklyn centric food will be served including egg creams, pastrami heroes, piazza, and cheesecake. Featured artists include jazz trumpeter, Jesse Neuman, and ESTA's "The Pearls of Wisdom," a touring ensemble of elder storytellers. Music by DJ Rabbi Darkside.

Minnesota Poetry Party- Celebrate Alzheimer’s Poetry Project's 10th Anniversary

Please join us in the culminating celebration of APP-MN's Minneapolis-Saint Paul Poetry Project. Poets Zoe Bird and Rachel Moritz will present well-loved classic poems and originally created works. As a highlight of the event. APP founder poet Gary Glazner will lead the audience in the creation of a new poem. Dancers from KAIROS ALIVE and singers from MacPhail Center for Music will also join the program!

Wisconsin Poetry Party- Celebrate Alzheimer’s Poetry Project's 10th Anniversary

The event is co-produced with the Madison Children's Museum. Fruit, pastries, coffee and juice will be served. Free and open to the public, the Memory Arts Cafe is a celebration of arts for people living with memory loss and their families. Fabu Carter, past Madison Poet Laureate; Gary Glazner, founder and Executive Director of the Alzheimer's Poetry Project (APP) will read classic, well-loved poems and poems written by those with living with memory loss.
