MetLife Foundation Creativity and Aging in America

This initiative is intended to: 

  • Recognize three innovative programs in the field through the Leadership Award Program;
  • Provide technical assistance to organizations seeking to implement creativity and aging programs in their communities through annual grant awards

Leadership Award

The MetLife Foundation Leadership Award recognizes three state-of-the-art programs in creativity and aging. Programs can take place in a variety of settings including: healthcare, arts institutions, or communities providing exemplary arts programming to the demographic they serve.  There will be three Leadership Awards awarded annually; one in each of the following categories:

Health and Wellness
Lifelong Learning
Community Building

Winners receive an award of $5,000 and a free one-year organizational membership to NCCA. Applications are currently closed. Learn more about the 2013 recipients.

Technical Assistance Site Grants

Applications are currently closed. There are no plans at this date to reopen applications. 

Competitive technical assistance grants in the amount of $5,000 each will be awarded to three organizations in the United States that submit exceptional applications to develop arts and aging programs in their communities.  Grantees will choose one of the Leadership Award Program Winners to provide on-site technical assistance and consulting services to their staff and community members. The goal will be to replicate the Leadership Award program in the grantee’s community. The grant will also provide support for a half-day forum bringing together arts and aging programs in the grantee’s community.
